UC Irvine

I attended the University of California at Irvine from 2012 to the end of 2015 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Economics. I gained a lot of work experience during my time at UCI and for some time afterwards. Click on the other numbers to see my growth over the years and how I got to where I am today.

Office Manager

I worked as an office manager for a little while at a photo booth rental company called Viral Booth. During my time there, I coordinated a team of over 15 attendants and maintained all of the software and equipment to be used each week.

Business Analyst Intern

After working at Viral Booth, I strived to gain more corporate experience which led to an opportunity as a Business Analyst Intern at D-Link. At D-Link, I researched, compiled, and analyzed market data to formulate business strategies on which products and areas D-Link should target. I also learned SQL on my own to try to implement into my work and really enjoyed learning it!

Business Insurance Underwriter

After I graduated from UCI, I had the pleasure of being a Business Insurance Underwriter at a fortune 100 company, Liberty Mutual. As an underwriter, I managed a portfolio of clients which generated about $7 million in gross annual revenue per year. That's a portfolio size for senior underwriters! I worked here for over two years before I found my passion for software development.

Software Engineer

Prior to pursuing software development full-time, I took a web development course online in my spare time. It is during this course that I realized that I wanted to be a part of building impactful applications, just like the ones that made it so easy for my insurance clients to do business with us. So, for the year of 2018, I dedicated myself to learning everything about software development. I've learned many things and built many applications. Check them out below!

Hi, I'm Rikey and I like to build websites.

A Bit More About Myself

I became a software engineer to build applications that can make an everlasting impact. I really enjoy building functionally smooth applications and styling to create the best user experience possible. I am always up for building new features in React! I've built several web applications with currently in-demand technologies and languages such as React, Redux, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, and the MERN stack.

On my spare time, you can find me working on my projects to make them pixel perfect or tinkering with React components to find cool new features. Other times, you can catch me perfecting the optimum position of a couch potato while supporting my favorite Twitch streamers.

What I Can Do

I've learned a ton of technologies and am constantly learning more. Here is a list of the cool languages and technologies I know and love.

What I've Built

Checkout these awesome apps I built! I used many amazing tools in these projects such as JavaScript, React, Redux, JavaScript, and Ruby on Rails to name a few.
